Husein - Pašina Džamija
History
Construction of this mosque started in 1570. years. Izgradna je kao deo vakufa Husein-paše Boljanića, who lived in Bosnia, Hercegovački and Egyptian Sandžak - beg kao i vizier Baghdada. Husein-pašin's original structures were composed of: mosque, harem, fontana, sahat-kula, groblje, school, building housing a kitchen and pijacom. From Pouzdano we know that the mosque in Pljevljima Husein-paša was built in the second half of the XVI century. Graditelj Husein-Pašine Mosque and its designer are most likely Neimar Hajrudin who built the tomb in Mostaru. Džamija has a square base 13x13 m, above the entrance door there is a trellis.
4 m wide, it holds four marble pillars, surmounted by three large domes. The interior space of the mosque has a square base above which is located the cupola, diameter 10,85 m, height 15,25 m, richly decorated with arabesques. The interior space of the mosque is illuminated by 25 windows, arranged in three levels.
Details about the cultural property
Like the building, Husein-Pašina Mosque is of modest dimensions. In the area of former Yugoslavia there is a red mosque of medium size. Lay on the cubical field it has almost a square base. The existing state of the project is 17,20 m long, 13,10 m wide, with walls 1,10 m thick, while its interior has dimensions of 10,70x10,80 x10,30 m. The opening of the window was made of finely processed stone. The entire north-western wall is provided by a high and massive beam, which rests on four circular columns of marble, mutually strengthened by arched arches. As a result of the architectural solution, the structure is divided into three parts, each of which has the central one, and the lower one has two sides. Iznad sva three dela domes found. Minaret Husein - the oldest mosque in the Balkans, 42 m high. The interior of the mosque is distinguished by four richly decorated semi-domes in the form of a dome, as well as a six-sided mihrab decorated with geometric motifs, which surround the Pravglim Zidane. In the mosque there are original carpets from 1573. Ćilim is made of leather, weighing 400 kg, size 10x10 m, made in Egypt, after I bought it for this mosque. The manuscript of the Quran was found in the mosque, made in 1571. at the request of Husein-Paše Boljanjića. The manuscript has 233 lists measuring 39x28.5 cm, associated with the Kojnī omotos that contain 352 miniatures drawn on a golden background, and represent one of the most beautiful works of Islamic calligraphy of the XVI century. Husein-Pašina Mosque is one of the most cherished monuments of oriental culture in the Balkans.
