Due to that, the entire region of Montenegro was under brutal and oppressive occupation by the Italian occupiers, who were under the command of General Pirci Biroli. It took only three months of this occupation before the resistance movement began and the fighting began in July 1941.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-3755-2\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-3755-2-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-3755-2-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"3\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>1 On December 29, 1944, the town of Kolasin was finally liberated from Italian occupation by the 5th Montenegrin Proletarian Brigade. Its partisan history, heritage and central role in regional events from the Second World War is something that has not been forgotten in Kolasin to this day. In the late 1960s, local and regional authorities, together with veterans' groups, began making plans to build a complex of monuments and buildings in memory of the rallies of the anti-fascist council of Kola\u0161in that took place in the city in 1943 and 1944. In 1970, a selection committee was set up to judge a design competition throughout Yugoslavia. Of the concepts submitted for consideration, the commission eventually awarded the commission to renowned Slovenian designer Marko Music. Construction of the complex began the following year, 1971.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-3755-3\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-3755-3-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-3755-3-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"4\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h3>Cultural site details<\/h3>\n<p>Kompleks Spomen dom ima dva konstitutivna dijela ukupne veli\u010dine 100x40m: memorijal, koji tako\u0111e ima centralnu salu za velike i male skupove, i administrativni. U pogledu njihovog dizajna, ova dva dijela su strukturirana na razli\u010dite na\u010dine. Sa skulpturalnom formom, razli\u010ditim sadr\u017eajima i ure\u0111enjem enterijera (tzv. \u201ec\u0301elije za doga\u0111aje\u201c), memorijalni dio je skup standardizovanih volumena koji predstavljaju osnovni program i simboli\u010dke strukture. Administrativni dio, u kome se i danas nalazi op\u0161tinska uprava, je jednospratna horizontalna struktura. Karakteristi\u010dan dizajn memorijalnog dijela inspirisan je tradicionalnim kosim krovovima karakteristi\u010dnim za Kola\u0161in i ovaj kraj (narodna arhitektura dinarskih kuc\u0301a), a zatim transponovan u novu, grupnu formu. Zbog specifi\u010dnog arhitektonskog dizajna, vremenskog perioda kada je izgra\u0111en, a pre svega ekspresivne upotrebe neobojenog, sirovog betona, objekat je primer brutalisti\u010dke arhitekture. 1Spomen dom je od raspada Jugoslavije prepu\u0161ten propadanju. Sale koje se nalaze u sklopu administrativnog dijela, danas se koriste za razli\u010dite op\u0161tinske i dru\u0161tveno \u2013 politi\u010dke organizacije.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-3755-4\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-3755-4-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-3755-4-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"5\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p>Spomen prostorije zgrade i vi\u0161enamenska sala vi\u0161e ne ispunjavaju funkcionalne uslove. Pojedini delovi kompleksa, koji su ranije kori\u0161c\u0301eni kao muzejske celine, sada su u administrativnoj funkciji (koriste ih neke politi\u010dke stranke, institucije i dr.).
